So here it is, my first blog post. There is no gala on near me this week so its a weekend of catching up. Last weekend was the 3rd major gala of the year for me at the KWVR. I think its fair to say that all the galas so far have been quite spectacular but this was by far the coldest.
The guest engine was the National Collections 'Super D'. Not my personal favourite engine but it did offer a bit of variety. The combination of that with the freshly restored 'Coal Tank' at the head of the recreation of the last train between Abergavenny and Merthyr was especially good.
Looking forward to next week the East Lancs have another gala on. I'm looking forward to doing a bit more exploring around this line on what will be only my second visit!
